Angela Angora Bolero: Great vintage baby bolero knitting pattern from 1950s. This little bolero is fabulous for a bridesmaid, party or any special occasion. It can be knitted in angora as shown or any other 4ply. Use 3ply or a smaller size needle for smaller baby size. Always work a tension square. To fit 20-21 inch chest, 22-23 and 24-25 inch chest.

This pattern has three different dress designs - note that up into the 1940s small boys still wore dresses, the little blue one at the bottom is suggested for baby boy! These three are all knitted in vintage 3ply and if knitted in modern 3ply they will be slightly smaller, try modern 4ply for size quoted, always work a tension square. The top dress is to fit birth to 6 months and is 16 inch chest, the white dress is 6-12 months chest 19 and the bottom one is 3-9 months with 17 inch chest

This little cardi is knitted in 4ply to fit 20 and 22 inch chest. Hayley Dress Set: Great vintage dress set knitting pattern from 1950s. This easy to knit set is to fit 18 and 19 inch chest. Knitted in vintage 3ply, tension suggests that modern 3ply should work well. You can try modern 4ply and change down needle size if you like, I suggest you always work a tension square. The skirts of the dress and matinee coat are worked in one piece so the stitch count is quite high. Dress length is suggested 14 or 15 inches.

This little raglan jacket with tree border is so easy to knit and should fit 20 inch chest if worked in 4ply. Always work a tension square. Worked in one piece to arm holes to avoid seams, but as it is not a full skirted coat there are only 155 stitches. I have made this one quite often, in modern 3ply it is sweet for a new born.

This type of set makes a great gift at a baby shower in cream, pink, blue or lemon. Knitted in 3ply for the small size, to make a bit larger use modern 4ply. Round face 11.5 inches. This super pattern is to fit 21 inch chest and measures 25 inches for the long dress and 18 or 16 inches long for short style. Suitable for 201 needles machines. rosies dress set from 1962 Rosie Dress Set -1: Great vintage baby dress set knitting pattern from late 1950s. This set has instructions for dress, coat, bonnet and bootees. This is what we used to call and Afternoon set. It was customary in the spring and summer to change baby after lunch and take her or him out in the pram in her best for a breath of fresh air or visiting. A pretty matinee and bonnet over a little lace dress or cotton smocked dress was the order of the day. And oh, those lovely big fringed canopies to keep the sun off baby! This little set is to fit 18-19 inch chest and is knitted in 3ply, using modern 3ply the set will be a tad smaller. The dress is 14 inches long.

ruby dress set knitting pattern from Canada 1950s Ruby Dress Set -1: Great vintage baby dress set knitting pattern from the USA. This pretty dress is knitted in vintage 3ply, that might well work well in modern 4ply. To fit 18 inch chest and 14.5 inches long. pretty chevron design with puff sleeves, lovely detail. The bonnet and bootees are crochet in a ruffle design - the little shoes are delightful with shaped sole and ruffle tops worked in vintage 3ply. Included are the instructions for her toy octopus that is simply braided in matching wool.

Suzie dress knitting pattern from 1940s Suzie Dress-1:Great vintage baby dress knitting pattern from 1949. This little long sleeved dress is just ready for the winter. Pretty eyelet design - the eyelets are embroidered round when finished to give a touch of colour. To fit 20 inch chest knitted in 3ply. Always work a tension square. I made this one in modern 3ply cashmere and embroidered the same little flowers at yoke. I made the eyelets in to flowers with different pastel colour threads.

suzie dress set - 1 Suzie Christening Set-2: Great vintage dress set knitting pattern from 1949. This lovely set is knitted in 3ply or 4ply to fit 18-20 inch chest. Pretty diamond stitch, the shawl below makes this a lovely christening set. The dress is 21 inches long. The coat is 20 inch chest and bonnet is 12 inches round face. There are instructions for bootees as well, a pair of mittens should not be too difficult to make to match. To make smaller size us modern 3ply on a size smaller needles. This includes the shawl seen below and can be bought seperately as shown.
