*Emu 899: Great vintage baby cardigan knitting pattern 1950s. This little classic trio will give any baby's wardrobe a great retro start. There are instructions for three different designs all for the first year. Two sizes given 20 and 21 inch chest. All are knitted in vintage 3ply, so work a tension square in modern 4ply to see if this works better. For smaller sizes use modern 3ply. There is a shawl collar cross over, picot edge V neck and high v neck with faggot stitch panels. They are all knitted n one piece from the rib up with dolman sleeves, giving baby freedom to move.Pattern is a little worn.

To fit 20 and 22 inch chests knitted in similar to quick knit which was between 4ply and double knitting, so chose which every you like knitting in and change needles to get the correct tension, or use modern 3ply on smaller needles for new born size. Set in sleeves. Pattern for sale has a trade sticker on the front and a minor crease.

There are instructions for a pram cover and a cot blanket as well as a hotwater bottle cover for a little one. Pram cover measures 22 x 28 inches and the cot banket17 x 32 inches. The hot-watrer bottle cover is 8 x 12  inches.  Knitted on large needles 000imperial or 10mm in double knitting wool. Always work a tension square. Thew cot cover is satin ribbon bound at edges.

*Robin 422: Great vintage baby dress knitting pattern early 1950s. This stunning little dress is to fit 2-3 years, but I have put here with the babies patterns as it is so easy to make smaller. The pattern is for chest 22 and knitted in 4ply, so if you knitted it in modern 3ply it would be smaller. Always work a tension square before you begin. I knitted this for my own daughter in 1966. This was one of the first patterns from my mother's collection that she gave me to start my own, she had knitted it for my sister in the 1950s.

*Robin 1161: Great vintage summer cardigan knitting pattern from the 1960s. This one has instructions for a V neck and a button up, both with set in sleeves and a bonnet to match. To fit 18, 20 and 22 inch chest. Knitted in vintage 3ply, so try 3ply in a tenison square and see if you need to use 4ply or just change needles to get the size you need. Yarns began to standardize by the 1960s so often knit true to ply - but stiil do a tension square to be sure. Pattern is in very good condition.
