SS10-54: Pepe the Monkey: Great vintage toy knitting pattern for cute little monkey. He measures almost 11 inches high and is knitted in double knitting wool and is knitted in mostly garter stitch with stocking stitch face, hands and feet.

SS10-54: Fierce Bunny: Great little bunny knitting pattern from 1950s. This little guy looks a bit fierce, but by embroidery you can give him a kinder expression, making his eyes round. Worked in double knitting wool he will measure 9 inches when finished. for smaller bunny work in 4ply or even 3ply. Stuff firmly.

Weldons 21: Billy Bunny: vintage knitting pattern from the 1920's for little bunny that is brushed after knitting, the original wool used was called teazel wool as it was easy to fluff up with a wire brush. It is best to use pure wool as this brushes up better, try modern 4ply. If a smaller toy is wanted try using 3ply and smaller needles, or double knitting wool with the same size needles will make  bigger toy. No size given.

Weldons 21: Fuzzy ball with ribbon trim: This is a vintage crochet pattern for a pretty pram toy. It is for a crochet ball in angora (bunny wool) and is fully washable, a new idea at the time. This pattern is from the 1920's.  Very pretty. No size given.

Weldons 21: Teddy in Crochet: Great teddy crochet pattern from the late 1920s, no size given, worked in crochet, soft wool and soft filling, very cuddly - all instructions included. This little fellow is jointed so it is suggested that you use child safety locking joints and safely eyes available from ebay or any fabric or craft shop. Wait until he is complete then see what size is needed. If he is to be collectors bear, not for a child then it would be nice to use the authentic cardboard discs and glass eyes suggested.

Weldons 21: Jolly Jumbo: Great elephant vintage knitting pattern, very popular toy in the 1920 and 1930's as they were a great attraction at zoos and travelling circus at the time. Again this lad was brushed using a teazel brush, but it is not necessary, he look fine with out it. Try modern 4ply. In most of these toys boot buttons are suggested to use as the eyes. If you are making the toy for a child safety locking eyes are best or even embroidered, but I do have some boot buttons sometimes for sale, ask if interested.

Weldons 21: Little Lamb: Great little lamb vintage knitting pattern from 1920s. He is knitted in what they called Fluffier wool so he can be knitted in modern fluffy or bouclé yarn to give the look of fleece or a 4ply wool can be used and brushed with a teazel brush (from a craft shop) when completed. No size given.

Weldons 21: Bell Toy: Great vintage knitting pattern for pram doll with bells. Easy to make, if making for a child make sure bells are sewn on securely or for safety sew them inside the doll, they will still tinkle. She is worked in stocking stitch so is quick to make. Although her face is a store bought mask, if this is unobtainable embroider features on front of head. However they do appear on ebay occasionally.

Weldons 21: Pippa Penguin:Great vintage toy knitting pattern 1920s. This little cutie is from the 1920s and is worked in modern 4ply, no size is given. I have called this one Pippa to distinguish it from the others that I have on site - mostly Percy! She is easy to knit and quite life like.

Weldons 21: Stripey Dog: Vintage knitting pattern for cuddly dog from the 1920s actually this pattern can be easily made to look like a cow, pig, hippo by changing his ear, tail and facial expression. Very useful pattern may be a great idea for WI or knitting club, see how many different animals can be made from this basic shape!

Weldons S106: Lovely vintage1940's toy knitting pattern to knit Poppet the Poodle, 10" high, Puss-in-Boots, 12" high and Annette the doll also 12" high. Pattern is in well used vintage condition and has a few creases and scuffs to front, but clean and sound.

He measures 13.5" and knitted in vintage 3ply, so try modern 4ply in a tension square, wartime pattern, urging the knitter not to stuff with salvageable rags!

Weldons 472: Delightful vintage knitting pattern for Dolly Dimples, 16 inches high. Pattern is from 1940's Made from odds and ends, for economy! The little doll in the picture has scraps or bunny (angora ) wool to make her look really special. This is one of my favourite toy patterns - she knits up beautifully. The original doll was knitted in pale blue, dark blue, pale yellow stripes, yellow hair and blue bows with dark blue stripe and shoes and pale pink for body. Weldons 481: Another great SEWING pattern form the war years, early 1940's. This time urging the crafter to use old knitted garments. Don’t forget if you use this medium today the garment have to be made from pure wool, and not shrink resistant wool (machine washable). Alternatively they can be made from felt. The clothes are knitted on fine needles in embroidery cotton. Could also be made into mascot dolls for handbags, phone charms, Christmas tree or dolls houses. Great little gift.

Weldons B904.  Fabulous vintage knitting pattern for a layette for 10 inch doll, looks great on a Rosebud or pedigree baby! Knitted in 2ply, trimmed with angora and lace. Long layette takes 6 oz (3 x 50gms balls) (I used modern 3ply Patons pure wool) the short layette takes 4oz or 2x 50gm balls. Bonnet 3rd of an ounce of angora (10gms) The doll pictured is also knitted, instructions given to make a 10 inch little soft doll - great baby christening gift! The set consists of dress, jacket, bonnet, nappy, vest, petticoat and shawl. Stunning when knitted up.

Weldons 354-3: Teddy Bear from the same book as Sambo, 23.5" tall he is knitted in poodle wool, similar can be found today or perhaps try one of the fun yarns about - there is a tension guide. Knitted in garter stitch he is easy to make and could have joints put in quite easily.

WH BillyBob-Rabbit: Great vintage toy rabbit knitting pattern from late 1930s early 1940s. This little guy is 13.5 inches tall and knitted in double knitting type of yarn. The yarn was teazel brushed (this was a little brush with bent wire bristle to raise the nap of the wool - works best with pure wool) they can still be bought. Or just left as normal, alternatively try a modern brushed yarn for that fluffy look.

WM Frilly Fish: Another unusual toy knitting pattern from the 1940's Frilly FISH! He measures 7" and very suitable for little hands I actually made this little chap for my daughter in the 1960s and she loved him, I embroidered his name (the fish) Charlie on his side in red wool! He survived for over 10 years as her bed time cuddle toy, she used to twiddle his filly fins!.

WM Little Black Pig: Vintage toy knitting pattern. 1940's Here is a little piggy, black with pink nose and ears, so cute. He appears to be about 6" at the highest point and about 8 inches long although no size is given. Knitted in vintage 4ply so work a tensions square to see if this works or whether he may be better in double knitting.

WM Panda: Vintage toy knitting pattern for a really cute panda from 1940's, knit in pure wool and then brush him to give him a furry look or knit in one of the many fluffy wools now available to 4ply or double knitting ply. He measures about 14 inches when sitting, depending on the ply used. Work tension square to see which yarn would work best and then you can see the size the panda will be.

WM Puddleducks: Vintage toy knitting pattern for a family of ducks. 1940's. The puddleducks are a cheery little family of ducks, make one or more ducklings. There are instructions for the bigger duck about 10 inches and the duckling about 5.5 inches included. Knitted in vintage 3ply so try modern 4ply in a tension square. Remember with toys you need quite firm fabric so the stuffing does not show, so change needles if the fabric is too loose.

WM Tom Kitten: Vintage toy knitting pattern for a cat in pyjamas! My personal favourite of these WM patterns. Probably because I had one similar in the late 1940's called Harry. Tom kitten is knitted in vintage 3ply so try modern 4ply, no size given, pyjamas removable. Great character and so typical of the 1930's and 40's knitted toys.
