Ramada50-20 dress Set: Great vintage baby out fit knitting pattern from early 1930s. This sweet little set is knitted in cluster stitch and is to fit up to 12 months. There is no chest measurement given. Work a tension square and adjust needles to get size required. The pattern part of this outfit is worked on large needles and the stocking stitch on regular size for yarn. Try baby wool or modern 4ply for size required. There are instructions for dress, matinee coat, bonnet bootees.

vintage knitting pattern for doublke teated baby bottle from 1930s Ramada50-26 Bottle cosy: Great vintage knitting pattern for feeding bottle from 1930s. This fabulous design was popular from as early as 1900 and kept re appearing in baby knitting booklets into the 1950s. To fit a curved double teated bottle and is great for film or stage prop. Easy to knit in 4ply.

Robin 12: Great vintage baby dress knitting pattern from 1930s. This lovely pattern for little dress gives instructions for a silk dress trimmed with angora. A modern silk or silk blend could be used or a modern 4ply - always use a tension square. Only the length is given at 14 inches so would suggest that between 18-21 inch chest. Instructions for little knickers as well.

Robin 16: Great vintage baby or toddler dress knitting pattern from early 1930s. This little dress was knitted in art silk with angora sleeves and was originally 14 inches to hem, you can make it any length to suit, gives no chest measurement. A silk blend can be bought or pure silk - but always work a tension square. Although this pattern,  as many early patterns, does not give a tension. You will find out your tension by knitting this square and then you will be able to estimate the finished size once you know how many stitches to the inch you knit with chosen yarn. Instructions for little knickers as well.

vintage toddler girls dress knitting pattern Robin 74: Great vintage baby or toddler dress from later 1930s. This one is to fit 22 inch chest and is 14 inches to hem, you can always make it a little longer if needed. Always work a tension square, this should work well with 4ply, and make sure that the angora is a 4ply and allow about 30gs of modern angora. Perle was lovely yarn that looked like rayon or silk. Instructions for little knickers as well.

Trimmed in angora and knitted in art silk, so you could try a silk blend or pure silk or a modern 4ply merino wool, always work a tension square and make sure that the angora is a 4ply. Pretty pearl buttons trim the yoke. Measures 16 inches to hem but no chest measurement given probably 20 inch. Instructions for little knickers as well.

Knitted in perle art silk, which was a shiny rayon type of yarn, but can be knitted in modern 4ply, or a 4ply silk mix, work a tension square and change needles to get the correct tension. There are instructions for a pram cover and a cot blanket as well as a hot water bottle cover for a little one. Pram cover measures 22 x 28 inches and the cot banket17 x 32 inches. The hot water bottle cover is 8 x 12  inches.  Knitted on large needles 000imperial or 10mm in double knitting wool. Always work a tension square. Thew cot cover is satin ribbon bound at edges.

The pattern is for chest 22 and knitted in 4ply, so if you knitted it in modern 3ply it would be smaller. Always work a tension square before you begin. I knitted this for my own daughter. This was one of the first patterns from my mother's collection that she gave me to start my own.

This pretty little cardigan is knitted in double knitting wool and should fit 9-18 months. High V neck is neat and not invasive. To fit 20 inch chest, but if knitted in a 4ply or even a 3ply the cardigan would be smaller (use smaller needles to correspond with the ply) I made this recently in modern 3ply on size 8, 9 and 5 to fit a new born. Always work a tension square.

rosies dress set from 1962 Rosie Dress Set -1: Great vintage baby dress set knitting pattern from late 1950s. This set has instructions for dress, coat, bonnet and bootees. This is what we used to call and Afternoon set. It was customary in the spring and summer to change baby after lunch and take her or him out in the pram in her best for a breath of fresh air or visiting. A pretty matinee and bonnet over a little lace dress or cotton smocked dress was the order of the day. And oh, those lovely big fringed canopies to keep the sun off baby! This little set is to fit 18-19 inch chest and is knitted in 3ply, using modern 3ply the set will be a tad smaller. The dress is 14 inches long.
