vintage 1930s ladies dress knitting pattern Viyella 3283: Great early 1930s vintage dress knitting pattern. This elegant dress is knitted in vintage 4ply so try a tension square in modern 4ply and double knitting to see which will work better. To fit 34-36 bust and is 43 inches long. Note that hem lines rose later in the decade and in the 1940s to save cloth and wool due to rationing. This is a nice easy pattern and can be shorted to give more modern look. There are instructions for long or short sleeves and the suede belt is quite easy or make yourself from a length of suede and a large buckle or source a 1930s one!. The neckline has a little collar and bow, both knitted. The panels of design give this dress an elegant timeless style.

vintage ladies skating dress 1930s

WB 381: Great vintage knitting pattern for ladies skating dress from 1936. How splendid is this? A fabulous pattern for a full skirted, short skating dress - I remember Ginger Rogers wearing one similar in a film from the 1930s!The high neck and tassel ties is so very of the era, the top fastens with a zip, but buttons could be substituted quite easily. To fit a 32 inch bust, waist 25, knitted in double knitting using a pair of needles and a circular needle (a flexible knitting needle)
