vintage baby bonnets in angora knitting pattern from 1910

Angora Bonnets 106: Great vintage baby bonnet knitting pattern from 1920's or earlier. The top one is knitted and the bottom Dutch bonnet is crocheted, but in bunny wool or angora. The yarn used would have been a fine version, so a 3 or 4ply rather than the thicker one more popular today. See internet for suppliers of Angora. Always work a tension square.

Bestway 443B: Great 1930's knitting pattern of little boy's suit. This suit is knitted in 4ply and has a button through cardigan jumper and overalls. Easy to knit and should fit 20 inch chest or a 1-2 year old. Always work a tension square.

Bestway864buw: Great vintage 1939 underwear knitting pattern for babies. this lovely pattern h as instructions for two different knickers and bodice sets. The one on the right is knitted and the other on is made from material (pattern shapes and instructions included) To fit 3months to 1 year. To fit a 16 inch chest. The pattern says due to wartime economies the government were advice these bodice set to take place of petticoats that took more wool or more material.

vintage baby dress set from late 1940s Don Maid 8: Great vintage baby knitting pattern for dress set and shawl from late 1940s. This lovely pattern is to fit17-18 inch chest knitted in vintage 3ply, so try modern fine 4ply. There are instructions for dress, jacket, and shawl. The shawl is circular and measures 44 inches in diameter.

This pattern has instructions for a pretty little cardigan with V neck and trellis pattern with embroidered flowers to finish off. To fit 20, 22 and 24 inch chest and knitted in modern 4ply or 3ply for slightly smaller size. A cable needle is used to form the trellis design.

vintage 1920 knitting pattern for leggings for baby Greenock B24: Great very vintage baby knitting pattern for leggings dating from around 1910-1920. These are both knitted in a 4ply to work out at length from waist to heel of 16.5 inches. On pair had feet the other is gaiter style that would fit over soft shoes. Nice and easy, very basic to knit and essential in the chilly weather.

vintage baby dress set knitting pattern from 1940s Laicada 6: Great vintage 1940s baby dress set knitting pattern. This little dress is 14 inches long but doesn’t give chest measurement. Knitted in vintage 3ply, and by the look of the tension would suit a modern day 3ply too. The neck of the dress and the puff sleeves are finished with a crochet edging, but a picot edging could be knitted to replace this. Always work a tension square.

vintage baby dress knitting pattern from 1940s Pearsalls 353 Dress: Great vintage 1920s knitting pattern for baby dress. There are instructions for dress to fit 17 inch chest. The original yarn was a pure silk and wool blend, you can still by this type of yarn, but this was probably in a vintage 2ply, so try modern 3ply in a tension square, front and back are worked the same. the vest is to fit 16 inch chest. Can be knitted in pure silk, if you do this read the instructions on the back page for knitting with pure silk as this still holds true even for modern silk yarn. I will try knitting the vest in modern 3ply pure wool and see what size it come out - just need a bit of time!

To fit 24 inch chest and worked in a 4ply rayon that would have been shiny like silk, but a modern day 4ply should work or 3ply for a smaller set.

One is double breasted and has a lace edged collar and hem to fit 19 inch chest knited in 3ply. One has an off centre fastening to fit 20 inch chest in 3ply, and the last one a raglan style, new for the decade to fit 19 inch chest and in a fine 4ply.
