The design has a wide medallion trim and pretty ribbon rosettes. To match the bonnet below. (thirty yards to a spool of art silk rayon thread)

vintage lamp shade pattern 1916

VC 12- 117 Lamp Shade: Great very Vintage crochet pattern for a Venetian style lamp shade from 1917. Worked in a light shade and line with a darker one this is absolutely stunning when a light is on underneath - not bad when unlit either. Great for that period touch of elegance. The medallions can be worked and used for bonnets matinee jackets decoration etc. There is a leaf medallion, a ring medallion. Original was made in Old Rose silk on paler silk on a six vane lamp shade - these can still be bought at craft shops or on line.

VC7-15 Lamp shade: Great vintage shade crochet pattern from 1917. The panels are worked in Filet with Venetian medallion and Venetian bands.  Crochet cotton or silk 30 for the panels and 3 for the medallions. With beautiful silk fringing.

VC8-16 Hanging Lamp shade: Great vintage shade crochet pattern from 1916. This design is for a hanging shad in three tiers, very popular in Edwardian times and into the 1920s.  Worked in 20 crochet cotton or silk, made in three circles worked in 3 Venetian panels and 3 all over panels. The border is worked with hanging balls.

This design has instructions for the shade to fit a candle lamp and is lined with silk and uses 30 crochet cotton or silk. The cushion  uses size 3 and is also lined with silk or cotton fabric to match lamp shade.

VC12-138 Cotton holder: Great Very vintage crochet pattern for a cotton holder from 1917. This little accessory can be made to work as other things such as a scented sachet, childs bag, evening purse, pin cushion etc. Originally used as a holder for the ball of cotton or silk to keep it clean. One of my customers used it to make scented bridesmaids balls for their little girls to carry.

VC12-132 Dixie Neck Ribbon: Great very vintage crochet pattern for a necklace or belt. Very easy to work and can be decorated with beads. There are 3 in this pattern see to the right. There is Chinese necklace worked in shell stitch , old glory (red white and blue). Very easily made in to belts or head bands.

A buckram frame is needed, medium size and a brim and artificial flowers. Great for budding hat designers.

VCH7-32 Children's hats: Great vintage crochet pattern for two children's hats from 1917. There are instructions for the boy's hat for 2 years old which is at the  bottom worked in 5 crochet. The  girl's bonnet is to fit a 2-4 year old  and is worked in 30 crochet and requires ilk or cotton lining and millenary wire and wide silk satin ribbon.

VC12-140:Great very vintage ladies bed cap crochet pattern from 1917. This is so pretty, a sleeping cap to keep all those pretty curls in place and protect bed linen - easier to wash than fancy pillow cases. Original was made in pink, blue and lavender silk, lined with pink silk and a silk ribbon bow.

Crochet for the saque  is worked in 50 cotton or silk and the little jacket is lined with netting. For the cap net lining and pleated net also required and batiste or silk for main part.

VC7-10 Pincushion: Great vintage crochet pattern for pin cushion. This interesting accessory for the bedroom or boudoir was essential in Victorian, Edwardian and through the 1920s as hats were always held on with pins and pins were also used to keep some parts of clothing in place - yes really! Size 50 crochet cotton was used with net or silk pleating, lined with batiste or silk. (Batiste is still available and is a fine pure cotton fabric used in the past for christening gowns, underwear and other delicate items.

VC7-9 Powder Puff Basket: Great vintage crochet pattern for a basket to keep powder puff in from 1917. This useful - well in the early part of the 1900 it was when huge feather or down powder puffs were in use. The top was held open by a wooden hoop and the lining was batiste or silk.

VC6-22 Butterfly Baskets: Great vintage crochet pattern for two decorative baskets from 1917. These little baskets could be used for bon-bons or in the boudoir for pins, hankies or other little odds and ends. Size 30 crochet cotton or silk is used and the motifs could be used for other things as well. No sizes are given.

VC8-103 Belt: Great vintage crochet belt and neck ribbon pattern from 1917. There are instructions for the Persian design for a wide girdle or belt with fringing and a slimmer neck ribbon. These were very popular around this time. Colours suggest for this were ecru, alice blue, rose, purple, orange, green and brown. Worked in no 3 cotton.

VC8-150: Belt: Great vintage crochet pattern for a wide belt from 1917. This belt is worked in blue and gold crochet cotton no size given but as it is a belt as long as the size cotton gives a stable and not too thick appearance it should work. Texto the crochet yarn used in the original was a rayon or art silk yarn and looks as though it might be a 10. Instructions for the buttons are also given.
