vintage mens crossover neck jumper from 1950s Bestway 122-2K: Great vintage man's cross-over neck jumper knitting pattern from 1950s. This pattern is from the early 1950s and is for a jumper knitted in 4ply to fit 36. 38. and 40in chest. If knitted in modern double knitting wool it will come up a larger, but you must allow more wool. Nice easy pattern this one. Always work a tension square.

vintage mens vest and long johns knitting pattern from 1920s Bestway 257-3Muw: Great vintage 1920's knitting pattern for underwear for men. This super pattern has instructions for the long Johns and vest - super retro for period dramas, T.V. stage, weddings re-enactment etc. Knitted in double knitting ply to fit large size, to make smaller use 4ply or smaller needles (this is the instructions in the pattern!) Looks like about 40 inch chest. The long johns have white cotton top, instructions for this in pattern. Vest has long or short sleeves.

This design has a nice V neck and is knitted in vintage 3ply, but if you chose to use modern 4ply always work a tension square and change needles to get correct fit or six required. There is a chart for the fair isle. Although knitted in 3ply, try modern fine merino 4ply and a tension square and change needles to get good fit. Rib sleeves give a nice fit.
